DRY ROT OUTBREAK AND FLOOR REPAIR.

A sagging timber floor was lifted to reveal a minor dry rot outbreak (Serpula Lacrymans) caused by a lack of ventilation to the sub-floor, and rising damp through the sleeper walls.

The decayed timbers were removed, along with any fungal growth leaving a clean sub-floor.

A biocide was applied to the masonry, and a deep penetrating preservative paste to the ends of the joists.

A new DPC was bedded onto the sleeper walls, and the floor then rebuilt like new.

New airbricks were added to the external walls to improve the ventilation and prevent further outbreaks.
